// OVERVIEW


Born from the ashes of Columbia University, Locus City University gathers society’s most curious and driven to dedicate themselves to research for the betterment of humanity.

Over the course of its long history, LOCU has made countless contributions in the arts, the sciences, and the humanities for this purpose. The vast majority of research into Echoes, Heart, and the Endling has also been historically spearheaded by the university.

It is the city's largest public university and its most prestigious forum for research, study, and intellectual exchange between intrepid minds.

Meant to embody the pursuit of knowledge, erudition, and the power of information, members may be faculty, staff, or students. Players are welcome to app students or personnel within LOCU. Personnel includes faculty and staff.

It continues to expect all areas of the university to advance knowledge and learning of our world at the highest level, and to provide the products of its efforts for a brighter future to Locus City citizens. Nearly all university graduates in Locus City have attended LOCU.

LOCATION

LOCUS CITY UNIVERSITY MORNING HALL

A historic building restored to its original stateliness, Morning Hall houses the Locus City University administrative offices within its brick walls.

It stands exactly where the former Columbia University Administrative Offices did, though its surroundings have changed quite a bit since then. Because of its long history, the architecture visible on campus is markedly different than that which can be seen in other parts of the city.

Visitors will find the first floor is host to several small exhibits on current research, university history, and recently completed artwork by university students. The Admissions and Outreach offices are located towards the back.

The second floor contains a break room, Human Resources, Finance and Resource Management, and Student Affairs offices.

The third and final floor is the home of the Office of the University Chancellor, though these days... it seems to be frequently empty...

    An eccentric astrophysicist with an extreme distaste for bureaucracy thrust into the most bureaucratic position of all… Chancellor!

    While he avoids critical paperwork as much as possible, he nevertheless possesses a passion for research and the betterment of humanity with it. He primarily specializes in researching the extraterrestrial origins of the Endling.

    As a longtime faculty member of Locus City University, Gil has watched over thousands of students on their path to becoming full-fledged members of society, then faction members and leaders in their own right.

    "Chu" is the sole heir to the notorious Chu Conglomerate, although she seems to have no plans of inheriting the business any time soon. She currently teaches industrial design at LOCU, encouraging the development of tech that's both ergonomic and creative.

    She seldom smiles and is often regarded as aloof, strict, and busy; however, she cares deeply for the academic and personal growth of her students. Her office hours are always open for insightful and candid advice.

    Rumor has it that she was forcibly transferred out of her engineering position at LOGOPS some years ago, but no verifiable information about this is publicly available.
